Fishing Report July 24, 2013

There has been a lot more action offshore over the last week with 5 trips since last weeks report.

Hopefully this trend will continue although we are in for a bit of rough weather until the weekend. A couple of trips were a bit rough but by Monday conditions were perfect.

The Snapper from the previous week were hard to find. Pearlies were the flavour of the week and some big specimens were landed.

Moses Perch were also schooled up on some reefs and appeared all set to spawn on the moon.

There are plenty of undersize Reds out there, with only one legal landed which was a beauty tipping the scales at over 13kg.

Some big Gold Spot Cod were landed with quite a few around the 15kg.

Other species landed included Parrot, Hussar, Amberjack, Gold Spot Wrasse, Spangled Emperor and Snappery Squire.

On the Beach I have heard of reports of Tailor being caught out the front of Rainbow at night.

In the Straits reports of good catches of big Winter Whiting and Flathead.

Mud Crabs & Sandies are also being caught.
