Fishing Report June 20, 2013

Welcome to this weeks Fishing report from Rainbow Beach.

Well the brass Monkey weather has finally arrived and with that comes the Snapper.

For those that can put up with the Cold mornings you should be rewarded with some great Fishing through the winter.

With 3 trips so far this week we had some very good Fishing.

Friday produced a lot of Hussar, Pearl Perch, Parrot, Squire, Red Emperor & Gold Spot Wrasse.

Conditions were perfect but on Saturday the Souwesters didn,t ease off as forecast.

The main catch was made up of Squire,Pearl&Moses Perch,Parrot,Maori Cod & Hussar.

In flat conditions on Sunday we finally found a big school of Snapper. We pulled the bag quickly when they came on the bite.Other species landed were Pearl Perch, Parrot, Red Emperor, Maori Cod & Moses Perch.A lot of undersize Reds were pulled 2 at a time, with many around the 50cm so the future looks good for this species.

More trips are planned later in the week weather permitting. The increasing swell could be a problem towards the weekend for those crossing the Bar.
