Fishing Report May 23, 2013

Once again welcome to this weeks Fishing report from Rainbow Beach.

Well Winter has finally arrived, and I swear it was warmer in Victoria where I spent last month.

Just the one trip offshore this week, with a couple last week.

Fishing an area 10 miles East of the Bar has produced a lot of good sized Parrot.

Other species landed included Pearl and Moses Perch,Hussar, and a few Squire.

This area is also producing Gold Spot Cod, Wrasse and Spangled Emperor.

The run of good weather is now ending with possible Gales over the weekend with an increasing Swell. Once again those booked for the weekend miss out.

In the Straits Mud crabs and Blue swimmers are still plentiful.

In the Inskip area a lot of good Flathead have been landed with most being released.

The exact location I cannot disclose but try the last of the runout and start of the Floodtide, and be prepared to go waist deep.

On the Beach towards Double Is Pt, Flathead and Whiting are biting well, but access is limited to an hour either side of Low water.
