Fishing Report 12 June, 2014

Just the 1 trip over the last week,as the Southeaster has been blowing all week. Saturday was our last day in choppy conditions, although the Bar was good.Fishing only 4 miles from the Bar we got a reasonable catch. This included Pearl Perch, Squire, Scarlet Sea Perch, Sweetlip & Maori Cod.

Conditions this weekend should be more favourable with the Southeaster forecast to drop Friday. With luck we may see a day or 2 of Southwesters which we badly need to cool the offshore waters. In the Straits some good catches of Flathead have been taken along with Bream. Carlo & Pelican Bay are good areas to try.

Further up the Straits towards Poona there have been plenty of School Mackerel but a lot are undersize. The odd Spaniard has also been landed.

Till next week – Stay Safe ..
