Fishing Report September 24, 2015

Very little has been happening offshore over the last 10 days. There was just the 1 day we could have got offshore but we were a couple short for the trip. This weekend looks like being blown out once again, but with a few days booked next week hopefully we will have plenty to report. From all reports those that got out during the week had good catches. Hopefully the Snapper will have another spawn on this or the next moon, and they usually bite well for a few weeks before heading deeper in November. There have been some good catches of Whiting from the front Beach and in the Straits Sand Crabs have been on the move with some good bags reported. Don’t forget the seafood Festival at Tin Can Bay this Saturday it should be a great day.

Till next week – WIND go away!!

Fishing Report September 17, 2015

After cancelling 3 trips in a row we finally ventured out offshore on Tuesday. We did intend Fishing wide grounds but 6 miles out found the current run very strong. Fishing the closer reefs was difficult with the current but we persevered & were able to bring home a good catch with most people getting there bag of Pearl Perch. Parrot and Snappery Squire made up the rest of our catch. Our luck with the weatherman won,t change this weekend either with the prediction of very strong winds starting today (Friday). Hopefully by mid week winds will moderate and we can get a good run of weather for the Holidays.

Till next week – Stay Safe.

Fishing Report September 10, 2015

As I write this winds are around 30 knots Southeasterly and don't look like abating till late Friday. That makes Saturdays trip look a bit iffy at this stage but hopefully by Sunday we will be back in business. I have not been offshore since Sunday week, mainly due to other work commitments with the successfulRainbow Beach Spring Festival last weekend. A very tireless lot of workers and generous Sponsors made it all possible.

The only Fishing report I have was from Greg Pearce who said Pearlies and Snapper along with Amberjack were biting well offshore. Reports have been filtering through of good Tailor catches along the front Beach with a few Bream mixed in as well.

Till next week-Stay Safe

Fishing Report August 27, 2015

Baitrunner had just the 1 trip offshore since last weeks report as we had a couple of cancellations due to weather. Our next trip is Friday with 2 more to follow, and we will not be operating next weekend due to the Big Festival at Rainbow Beach. In pretty ordinary conditions last Saturday we managed a few Snapper, but mainly Pearlies and Moses Perch with a few Parrot.
Lets hope leading up to the moon we can find the Snapper again.

Till next week, Good Fishing and lets hope the Northerlies disappear.

Fishing Report August 13, 2015

With a cancellation last Friday we just had 2 Trips offshore for the week. Both days produced a mixed bag, but it was no where near as full as the previous week. Saturday produced some Big Maori cod, but most of the catch were quality Moses Perch. Other species included Snappery Squire,Parrot , Sweetlip & Hussar. The bigger Snapper were hard to find or maybejust off the bite. Sunday we went Nth East on a 10 knot forecast only to be hit with 20-25 most of the day and 1.5 to 2 mt Seas. Thanks weather Bureau..Anyway we landed Snappery Squire, Parrot, Pearl Perch, Sweetlip, Frying Pan Snapper and Hussar.

This Friday may be good offshore but the weekend looks debateable at this stage.(Wednesday).

Till next week,  Good Luck.
