Fishing Report November 05, 2015

Since our last report we just had 2 Trips offshore for reasonable catches. Saturday with many onboard that hadn’t been offshore before enjoyed good conditions after being a bit choppy early. They had a ball catching Pearl Perch a couple of Scarlet Sea Perch, Moses Perch, Parrot, and Squire.  Sunday we ventured wider to find the current had really picked up which made Fishing difficult. We landed a couple of good Snapper first up, but after that the Fishing slowed, and we worked hard to get a reasonable catch of Snapper, Gold Spot Wrasse, Pearl and Moses Perch, Maori Cod, Hussar and some good sized Parrot. We can only hope the current drops by the weekend to make Fishing easier.

Till next week, Good Fishing.

Fishing Report October 29, 2015

Well no trips offshore again this week. Last weekend was cancelled and I cancelled our trip today (Wednesday) after seeing it was over 20 knots at 3.45 am. The wind did drop a bit during the day but I don’t think the sea would have been brilliant. Hopefully there are better days ahead and here’s hoping Saturday is OK. I mentioned last week I was headed to Longreach with supplies to drought affected Farmers. Things are even worse than I thought out West and a lot of Families can, t put food on the table after 4 years of drought. The assistance I took out was mainly in the form of Food Vouchers and since being home more calls of assistance have been received. One call came from Victoria as they had seen my Facebook page which is just amazing. If you want to help I am there to pass it on.  Back to Fishing and I have heard of some good Mangrove Jack around the Carlo-Pt area and up the creeks along with plenty of Bream.

Till next week-Good Fishing.

Fishing Report October 15, 2015

Another week gone and we have had a complete change of weather. Where are the Norwesters, let’s hope there gone for good this year, but I doubt that. On the New Moon the current picked up although it was still fishable with 8 on the Boat. After missing last weekend due to weather we only did the 1 Trip on Tuesday, but for once this weekend may be OK. We fished wider ground with the current for a feed of Pearl & Moses Perch, Parrot, Squire & a couple of Amberjack. I won’t be operating next week as it’s a trip out West with Gift Cards, Cash and supplies to the Drought area. A big thankyou to all those that have come onboard. If weather is OK the following weekend I will be back with a full report.

Till next week, Good Fishing.

Fishing Report October 8, 2015

Since our last report we have just had 3 trips offshore but all in very good conditions. The weather during the week has been good over the last couple of months but week-ends are blown out and that will happen again this week. Whilst Victoria experiences dry times with no cold fronts crossing Bass Strait we will continue to get these southeasters, and Victoria is heading for drought also. Our catches last week were very good with plenty of Snapper but this week they were a lot quieter. Moses Perch have been in good numbers with Parrot, Pearl Perch, Hussar and Squire out East. The Northern grounds have produced mainly Trag Jew, Parrot, Pearl Perch, Frying Pan Snapper & Squire. It was great to have a lot of young ones on during the Hols and they had a ball, also saw Whales and Dolphins.

Till next week, Good Luck with the Wind.

Fishing Report October 1, 2015

This week the weather has returned to near normal and we have enjoyed some excellent Fishing offshore. 4 Trips for the week, but we have cancelled today (Friday) and Saturday due to increasing winds & some illness. We have mainly fished the wider grounds for some very good Snapper and Moses Perch making up most of the catch. Parrot were also in good numbers although a lot on the smaller side and along with Hussar, Rosy Jobfish, Pearl Perch and a few Gold Spot Wrasse made up the catch. The current has been very fishable offshore but did start to pick up yesterday, hopefully this will be short lived & we can enjoy some more good conditions.

Till next week, Good Fishing.
